SXSW 2009 Day 1 – Starfucker.

Starfucker @ Radio Room. Starfucker were an unknown that I checked out on the recommendation of some local friends (cheers Phil, Kramer, Wheels, Skip,etc). They were great fun. Like MGMT when they go electronic but a bit more indie rock bubblegum bounce to them at times.
For Fans Of: MGMT, Passion Pit, Grandaddy.
Judging from their performance and the packed venue these guys are set for the big time. In my top 3 bands of the day and in my top 2 best names of the day – losing out narrowly to ‘Natalie Portman’s Shaved Head’!
