If you read the list properly you’d realise that merriweather post p’ isn’t even in the top 10, it was just a wind up picture. The YYY’s album is awesome even if not as good as the last one and Grizzly Bear album is excellent even if they’re still way better live and as for Dirty Projectors, they’re an acquired taste. I doubt it’ll be one of my long time favourites though.

Is this list a joke? The new Yeah Yeah Yeahs was one of the worst albums of the year. Also, Merriwhether Post Pavilion was the biggest musical disappointment I have ever experienced and the Pitchfork fuck-ups just made it worse for claiming its brilliance. Grizzly Bear’s new release sucked compared to Yellow House. The Dirty Projectors could not be more fucking boring.

agreeed on Grizzly Bear. Just a beautiful album. Not so keen on the YYY’s. Have yet to listen to White denim – but Workout Holiday was in my top 5 of last year with Hercules & Love affair, bon iver all battling for the top spot… xx

…Though i cant go on predicting, we probably need a list of what is yet to be released till end 09 to “weight it out” (sbf212hehe).

Thanks for the response Jamie.
Afraid the old Horrors stuff isn’t for me. I can hear some promising elements in it though. I’ve heard things about Hombre Lobo so will definitely be giving that a good listen. Can’t go wrong with a bit of Eels really. Mark Everett is a genius.

Have to say i quite liked a few old horrors tunes! Yeah, white denim. Yeah, yeah yeah yeahs. I think hombre lobo (eels new album) may surprise a few and sneak into the end of years lists, its dripping quality like i am sweat!

Very nice list as well! I really enjoyed the Horrors and Strange Boys new albums as well. A lot of good stuff already in 09. I can’t wait to see what comes out the latter half.
