Alessi’s Ark @ Tamesis Dock, July 14th.

Posted by:

The Moonshine Jamboree feat. Alessi’s Ark / Left With Pictures / Tristram. Alessi’s Ark is super talented South London teenager Alessi Laurent-Marke and band. She’s just released an accomplished first album full of ethereal alt. folk songs that are simply way too good for someone her age. This is a special chance to see her on a boat on the Thames. For Fans Of: Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart, Whispertown 2000.

The gig takes place on the Tamesis boat which is docked on the Albert Embankment between Vauxhall and Lambeth bridges. Unfortunately I don’t think the boat moves. Alessi’s gig is my pick of a series of summer gigs from Moonshine Jamboree on board the Tamesis. Check ticketweb or their MySpace for more.

Support comes from Left With Pictures, a classically trained London four-piece who now play melodious, twee chamber pop. Big voices and big heart are features of their music. They were a higlight at the Shhh Festival of Quiet Noise last year.

For Fans Of: Slow Club, Belle & Sebastian, The Leisure Society.

Further support courtesy of Tristram.

When? Tuesday, July 14th.

Where? Tamesis Dock, Albert Embankment.
