What? The Local presents: She Keeps Bees / Left With Pictures/ Vadoinmessico. She Keeps Bees is a husband and wife blues rock duo from Brooklyn now half way through their residence at The Britannia. There’s also great support form East London’s Left With Pictures and exciting new act Vadoinmessico. For Fans Of: The White Stripes, Smoke Fairies, Richard Hawley.
Left With Pictures play wonderfully twee folk bordering on chamber pop. An unmistakeably English sound from this classically trained four piece who have been turning a lot of heads with a string of easy on the ears EP and single releases, the latest of which is ‘Every Stitch, Every Line’. You’ll find the b-side from that release ‘Her Father’s Nose’ below which sums them up brilliantly. For Fans Of: The Leisure Society, Belle & Sebastian, Slow Club.
Vadoinmessico I am positively bubbling over with excitement to see. A London four piece centred around the elated vocals of Giorgio Poti. They create epic, cinematic sounding songs using an array of acoustic instruments, keys, glockenspiels and percussion. Too hard to pin their sound down on first listen but I’ll report back.
