Music Mule presents: Stornoway @ Luminaire, July 9th.

What? Music Mule and Electroacoustic Club present: Stornoway, Magic Arm and Shona Foster. We’re proud to be co-promoting this night in association with the wonderful EA Club at one of the best venues in London. Stornoway have just played five sets at this year’s Glasto including one broadcast live for BBC. Gorgeous finger picking folk with to die for vocals.

For Fans Of: Belle & Sebastian, Sufjan Stevens, Fleet Foxes.

Stornoway’s debut single ‘Zorbing’ is a summertime folk/pop masterpiece that’s already received Radio 1 plays from Colin Murray and Lauren Laverne. The Guardian have already proclaimed them ‘our New Favourite Band’ and Drowned In Sound have described them as ‘impossible not to love’. Heady praise indeed. Come check them out for yourselves but in the meantime you can find their Glasto performance at about 33mins here.

Magic Arm

Support act Magic Arm are just as much cause for excitement. Mancunian Marc Rigelsford is the man behind the magic (arm). His sound is hard to pin down but folk-tinged electronic pop with a dark edge may go somewhere close. Magic Arm’s debut album ‘Make Lists, Do Something’ is out now and counts Ed Droste (Grizzly Bear) and Sam Beam (Iron & Wine) as two of its fans. As those guys are two of the best musicians of the past couple of decades we must be forgiven for dribbling a little at the prospect.

For Fans Of: Beck, The Beta Band, Adem.

Shona Foster

Shona Foster opens the evening. She’s been likened to “Portishead ditching the drum machines or Kate Bush holidaying in the Balkans”. Eclectic musical influences presented via piano, violins, oboe and Shona’s powerful, despairing vocals.

For Fans Of: Kate Bush, Beth Gibbon.
