Spencer Krug’s supposed side project Sunset Rubdown has just released its third album ‘Dragonslayer’ and at this stage they’re arguably set to eclipse his old band Wolf Parade which is no mean feat. Dragonslayer is a fantastic album full of all of the mystical and obscure imagery we’ve come to expect from Spencer but it’s also the most coherent and complete body of work he’s offered up yet. For Fans Of: Wolf Parade, Miracle Fortress, Arcade Fire.
‘You Go On Ahead (Trumpet Trumpet II)’ is a sequel to ‘Trumpet, Trumpet, Toot! Toot!’ from their second album ‘Random Spirit Lover’. You may recognise the track form an early version aired during Sunset Rubdown’s awesome Black Cab Session last year (find the audio of that below). As with the rest of the album female member Wynne Ingr’s vocals perfectly offset Spencer’s splendid wail . All together now! ‘You Go on Ahead For A While, I Would Like To Just.. Follow You A While’!
