The Decemberists @ The Coronet, Nov 19th.
What? The Decemberists play a second London date on their brief UK tour. Their latest album ‘The Hazards Of Love’ is visionary front man Colin Meloy’s rock opera for which the band have enlisted the help of female vocalists Becky Stark (Lavender Diamond) and Shara Woden (My Brightest Diamond) and thrown in some epic guitar riffs that wouldn’t sound out of place in an Iron Maiden track. The Decemberists, everyone’s favourite dramatic indie rockers bring their latest album and rock opera ‘The Hazards Of Love’ to London for two dates of which this Kentish town show is the biggest. Colin Meloy and his band from Portland, Oregon are renowned for their powerful live performances including splitting the Shepherds Bush Empire crowd into North and South to fight out the American civil war during their last tour!
