On Repeat: Cherbourg – Never Love Again
Posted by: nick
We’re not usually massive fans of the fiddle but in ‘Never Love Again’, an epic piece of folk-rock from the London four-piece Cherbourg, it just feels right as does the rest of the song. A great sing along, almost sea shanty like chorus married to some great pop tinged verses which remind us a little of James Mercer’s (The Shins) vocals at times.
For Fans Of: Fleet Foxes, Port O’Brien, Band Of Horses.
‘Never Love Again’ is taken from Cherbourg’s debut EP ‘Last Chapter Of Dreaming’ which was out earlier this year. The band have since released a second EP, ‘Into The Dark’, but we thought this little gem as good a place to start as any. Come see them play ICA in September supported by the also promising Kurran & The Wolfnotes.
