Spoon – Got Nuffin

Spoon are somewhat of an indie rock institution in the States but never seem to get the light of day over here. Their last record, the excellent Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga was one of the best albums of 2007 but was largely overlooked and practically impossible to find in a record shop. Anyway they’re back and it’s time to PAY ATTENTION.

For Fans Of: The Walkmen, White Rabbits, Tapes’n'Tapes.

‘Got Nuffin’ is the title track from their latest EP out at the end of last month through Anti/Epitaph Records in Europe. It’s a bit more raw than the production we’re used to from Spoon but it sounds good for it. Dirtier, groovier, is there even, dare we say it, a bit of an 80s rock vibe going on with the opening guitar riff? Maybe not. We’re sure you’ll love it like we do though.
