On Repeat: The Big Pink – Dominos
Posted by: nick
The Big Pink are Londoners Robbie and Milo and they’ve just cut their debut album ‘A Brief History Of Love’ (stream it below) for the legendary 4AD label which is home to greats like TV On The Radio, Bon Iver, The National and of course the Pixies. The single ‘Dominos’ is out on Sept 7th a week before the album and it’s another gorgeous slice of shoegaze pop.
For Fans Of: TV On The Radio, School Of Seven Bells, Spacemen 3.
‘A Brief History Of Love’ is available to stream in its entirety below for a limited time. It’s a grand, soaring record of big choruses, distorted guitar and sweet synth which is ingraining itself firmly in our consciousness as this is written. There’s old favourites like ‘Too Young To Love’ and contender for song of the year ‘Velvet’. Then you have the likes of ‘Love in Vain’, ‘Golden Pendulum’ and the epic indie dance track that is ‘Tonight’, all of which are early stand outs.
The band are great live too. Go see The Big Pink @ The Electric Ballroom, October 22nd.
