Nodzzz @ Old Blue Last, Aug 29th.
Nodzzz of San Francisco play their first ever UK show. Nodzzz are another band riding high on the current wave of Californian lo-fi or in this case perhaps no-fi. Simple, fun pop-punk soaked in sunshine and humour. Their debut album is out now through the What’s Your Rupture label.

On Repeat: Crocodiles – Neon Jesus
After an enlightening interview with The Strange Boys last week where front man Ryan was raving about his love for the current San Francisco/Californian music scene we decided to dig a little deeper. Already hooked on Thee Oh Sees and now San Diego’s Crocodiles are next on the list. ‘Neon Jesus’ is the most immediate of a strong set of UK post-punk influenced tunes.

On Repeat: Wild Beasts – Two Dancers.
Two Dancers is the second album from Kendal four-piece Wild Beasts. It builds on the promise of their Domino Records debut ‘Limbo Panto’ and sees the band combining their trademark oddness with some awesome Johnny Marr style guitar licks and booty shaking percussion. The result? One of the best albums of the year so far.

Spotifriday: Pure Marigold

Ch-ch-ch-change(s) is sometimes good! ‘So Good On Paper, So Romantic but So Bewildering.’ Couldn’t have put it better Carly! // more
