On Repeat: The xx – Infinity
If you haven’t already got the debut album from The xx then why not, it’s been out a whole day and a three quarters already! It’s been on constant rotation over these ways and we can confirm it’s a slow, creeping gem. ‘Infinity’ is one of a healthy list of standouts and should serve as one more piece of bait with which to lure you into purchasing their record. Not into buying cds? Go see them live then.

On Repeat: Mirrors – Hide and Seek
Mirrors are a new pop noir band from the shores of Brighton. Upon reflection (sorry) they will remind you of the likes of New Order but we don’t care when they write tunes as good as the gloriously laid back electro splattered ‘hide and seek’. Treading similar territories to a few bands out there at the moment but doing it with more panache.

The Strange Boys, Male Bonding @ Hackney Warehouse, Aug 19th.
What? This Is Music, Rockfeedback and Rough Trade Records present The Strange Boys, Male Bonding, Deep Sht. We caught up with new Austin heroes The Strange Boys on the first date of their UK tour in Dalston last week and they rocked our world. Passionately played, blues infused rawk n roll with frontman Ryan’s unorthodox vocals proving the epitome of cool.

Sell Out Soon! Music Mule Pick -
The xx @ Barfly Camden, Sept 9th.
What? Yes that band again The xx play an intimate show at Camden Barfly following two sold out shows at Hoxton Hall in August and the release of their critically acclaimed and really bloody wonderful self titled debut album on the Young Turks imprint. Dark, brooding 80s guitar and programmed beats with the laid back girl/boy vocals of best friends Romy and Oliver. Beautiful.
