What? Those nice White Heat guys have booked YACHT to play a late night live set at their weekly club night in Soho. YACHT is Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans of Marfa, Texas and Portland, Oregon, USA. They’re signed to DFA, are tour mates of LCD Soundsystem and have a pleasing new album out called See Mystery Lights which has been featured on Pitchfork’s ‘Best New Music’ recently.
For Fans Of: LCD Soundsystem, Friendly Fires, The Blow.
YACHT was formed in 2002 as ‘Young Americans Challenging High Techonology’.
YACHT is about group consciousness. YACHT is about the individual man or woman. If you believe these assertions to be contradictory, consider the Triangle: it is both a collection of points and a shape.
YACHT IS NOT A CULT.
Before Yacht there’s the album launch for London post punk band The Low Miffs featuring with Malcolm Ross who used to be in Josef K, Orange Juice and Aztec Camera to name a few!
Support comes from Wild Palms who apparently sound like White Denim and early Birthday Party.
Further support from New York Noise influenced Horse and Condor who tread Flaming Lips and Eno territories.
When? Tuesday, Oct 13th. Bands 8-10.30pm, club 10.30pm – 03.00am.
Where? Madame Jojo’s, Soho.
How Much? £5 adv / £6 door
Tickets? ticketweb
