Girls @ Hoxton Bar & Kitchen, Oct 20th.
What? Girls. We just saw San Francisco’s Girls for the first time at The Lexington playing songs from their upcoming debut long player cunningly titled ‘Album’. Album is a great record full of hazy West Coast Pop, rock’n'roll, and even a bit of shoegaze type action. It’s cool and laid back just as the band were live. What they lack in stage energy is made up for by the beautiful noise they create.

Review: Girls @ The Lexington, Sep 21st.
Girls of San Fran-bleeding-good-music-like-it’s-going-out-of-fashion-cisco played our gig of the week at The Lexington in Angel last night. We were eager to see whether the dreamy, distorted West Coast pop of their forthcoming debut album would stand up live or whether it’d be another disappointing case of falling in love with an album only to find the band has no noteworthy live presence. We’re not naming any names (Miracle Fortress last year). // more

The Temper Trap @ Koko, Dec 21st.
What? The Temper Trap are pretty much the hottest live band on the planet at the moment. If you’re not lucky enough to have a ticket for Wednesday’s sold out show at Heaven then make sure you snap up one for this new Koko show presented by those tasteful promoters at Eat Your Own Ears. This promises to be a great Xmas warm up.

The Soft Pack @ Camden Barfly, Nov 5th.
What? San Diego’s The Soft Pack return for what’s currently a one off London date and one of only three across the whole UK. One of our favourite bands to emerge in 2009 and their show in Hoxton earlier this year was one of our live highlights too. We’ve seen them a handful of times since then and their surf-punk swagger has yet to disappoint live.
