On Repeat: Kurt Vile – Childish Prodigy
Childish Prodigy, Kurt Vile‘s third album proper, is his first for his new label Matador Records who have also signed Music Mule favourites Harlem recently. Aside from being great at naming albums Kurt knows how to pen a fine tune. More influenced by rock than a lot of his lo-fi peers. A lot of his music is acoustic guitar driven but sounds a far cry from folk.

On Repeat: Neon Indian – Psychic Chasms
Neon Indian is the new creative guise of one of our favourite artists, Texan Alan Palomo, formerly of Ghosthustler and still (we believe) also of Vega to name but a couple of his other projects. Neon Indian sees Mr Palomo team up with high school buddy and Brooklyn based visual artist Alicia Scardetta to complete the audio-visual attack. But it’s primarily the audio we’re concerned with and it’s a delight.

On Repeat: Local Natives – Gorilla Manor
The seemingly long wait for Local Natives debut album ‘Gorilla Manor’ is almost over as Infectious Records release it on the slightly suspecting world this coming Monday, November 2nd. It’s a technicolour masterpiece nowhere near as gay but just as dazzling as Joseph’s dreamcoat!

Dan Mangan @ Wilmington Arms, Nov 9th.
What? Dan Mangan is a name on a lot of people’s lips at the moment after scooping Artist Of The Year at Canada’s Verge Awards following some big singles from the singer songwriter’s second album ‘Nice, Nice, Very Nice’. We’ve seen him in the flesh a couple of times and his gravelly throated wide eyed wonder is something to behold. He’s at Pure Groove earlier in the day too.
