You Massive Radar – Bands of 2010 part 2
Ok so for part 2 of our Bands of 2010 You Massive Radar feature (part 1 here) we’re continuing to steer relatively clear of the more established bands with no doubt impressive releases due this year (Yeasayer, Midlake, Field Music, These New Puritans, The National, Foals, etc). In doing so we’ll hopefully introduce you to a few more unknown quantities who deserve just as much of your attention. We are excited about that Yeasayer album though! Shhh. Here goes. The Antlers @ Scala, May 19th.
What? The Antlers are Brooklyn trio Peter Silberman, Michael Lerner and Darby Cicc. Thier 2009 debut album Hospice has won them a lot of fans at this early stage of the band’s existence and it’s not hard to see why. Hospice is some of the most affecting, desolate yet uplifting music this side of Bon Iver’s stunning debut.
For Fans Of: Bon Iver, Grizzly Bear, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s more tender moments. // more

Darwin Deez @ Barfly Camden, March 11th.
What? XFM are no dummies and they’ve cottoned on to the fact that Darwin Deez is pretty hot property. Hence he headlines their regular XFM Xsposure night in Camden in March. If you can’t make it along to see the Deez’s first show at White Heat then be sure to get to this. The man has the talent and songs in droves but it’s now time to see if his crazy dance tinged live show can stand up to the test.

Sell Out Soon! Music Mule Pick -
Wolf Gang, Darwin Deez @ Madame Jojo’s, March 9th.
What? White Heat present what could be one of the gigs of the year featuring Music Mule favourites from 2009, London’s own Wolf Gang who we already know is magnificent but perhaps most excitingly Brooklyn’s hipster indie pop dance machine Darwin Deez who made one of our top five records of last year but is a bit of an unknown (at least to these shores) and perhaps volatile quantity live.
For Fans Of: Talking Heads, Pavement, The Cure. // more
