On Repeat: Summer Camp – Was It Worth It?

We first heard about Summer Camp through the mighty GvsB late last year when they introduced us to the band’s cover of ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’ and then some sublime material of their own in the form of ‘Ghost Train’. ‘Was It Worth It’ is the latest lo-fi pop nugget to be dropped by the mystery band who may or may not be from Dalarnas län, Sweden and may or may not be a seven piece.
For Fans Of: Washed Out, The Avalanches, Toro Y Moi.
Whoever these guys n gals are they seem to be edging themselves into serious ‘ones to watch’ territory if you’re into all that. Although their MySpace says they’re unsigned they seem to be affiliated with Transparent Records who are periodically leaking these glorious tunes on the band’s request.
Check out the band’s MySpace for a couple more gems, ‘Summer Camp’ and ‘Round The Moon’ and then there’s the Summer Camp blog for some vintage pics of randomness next to some song names and the like!
If all these tracks floating about the internet machine make it to an album then it should be very special indeed.
