Signals – Angst In My Pants (Sparks Cover)
Signals are the new group from former The Mae-Shi members Jon Gray, Bill Gray, and Jacob Cooper and they’re 3 beautiful boys if you’ll believe their press release! While we’re not sure of that, we are sure that they seem to have carried the insane energy of The Mae-Shi into their new project and that’s something worth taking time to investigate.
For Fans Of: The Mae Shi, Abe Vigoda, Ponytail.

Thee Oh Sees @ The Luminaire, June 5th.
What? John Dwyer is the stuff of legend in San Francisco and we’re openly in awe of his band Thee Oh Sees, especially their last effort ‘Help’, out last year on the wonderful Into The Red label. Now then these guys have a reputation for somewhat tearing it up live so we’re thankful to Upset the Rhythm for making this a Saturday gig so we can tear it up with them!
For Fans Of: The Strange Boys, Harlem, The Smith Westerns.

Radiant Dragon – Frost Satellite
So here it is as promised the second giveaway from London’s Radiant Dragon. Frost Satellite combines gorgeous guitar jangle, hypnotic electronic beats and beautifully hushed vocal hooks to create an overwhelmingly warm sound that will induce powerful feelings of floating. Actual floating can be neither confirmed nor denied at this point but there is something about this man’s music that suggests cosmic genius.
For Fans Of: Banjo Or Freakout, Animal Collective, Four Tet.

Warpaint – Elephants
Oh lordy lordy! We’ve just come across the video for Warpaint‘s latest single Elephants and we’ve fallen in love again. The song is a phenomenal Portishead meets post-punk affair and the video is the three ladies looking good, rocking out with moody back lighting. As you do. Their drummer is less to look at but he can throw down a mean beat. Bring on the Rough Trade album!
For Fans Of: Portishead, Electrelane, Sonic Youth.
