Tune Yards @ Cargo, Feb 15th.

Forget Dent May, last night was the turn of Tune Yards and her Magnificent Ukulele to step into the limelight at a sold out Cargo in East London. Grenadine – I Only Have Eyes For You

A little blast from the past here. What with one of our new favourites Summer Camp laying down a recent version of ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’ we were thrilled to come across an older version from a sort of 90s indie supergroup Grenadine.

For Fans Of: Summer Camp, Unrest, Tsunami.

Still Corners – History Of Love

Hopefully the time has come for London band Still Corners. They seem to have been roughly two years ahead of the current trend of bliss pop/glo-fi (sorry) bands that everyone including Music Mule has been lapping up of late. Their debut EP Remember Pepper?, which History Of Love is lifted from, was released back in Nov 2007. We wouldn’t be surprised to learn these guys had a hand in mystery sensations Summer Camp either.

For Fans Of: Broadcast, Summer Camp, Pearl Harbor.

Dignan Porch – On A Ride

Don’t be confused by their trendy slacker bedroom-garage sound, Dignan Porch are not in fact one of the numerous bands that you bump into when ambling down the Kingsland Rd, no they are in fact from Tooting which they themselves seem to deem a far less cool place. Who could think why?

For Fans Of: Pavement, Skygreen Leopards, Veronica Falls.
