Ugly Side Of Love is the debut album from Bristol based Malachai (once Malakai). Originally released last year by fellow Bristolian, Malachai mentor and most notably Portishead member Geoff Barrow and his Invada label. The album got its much deserved re-release through Domino in February. It’s a gorgeously confused mix of 60s psychedelia, hip hop and Jamaican reggae influences.

Snowflake is lifted from Ugly Side Of Love and has to be a contender for catchiest track of the year. Again, again! Other album highlights for us include ‘Blackbird’ and ‘Another Sun’.
