Tanlines – Real Life / Bejan
Posted by: nick
Tanlines are Brooklyn experimental pop/dance duo Jesse Cohen and Eric Emm. Any band with sense of humour enough to make a World Cup Remix of their own track, ‘Real Life’, with added Vuvuzela is likely to get close to our hearts! If the gloriously uplifting poly-rhythmic tropical synth sounds of Tanlines don’t stir your soul then you’re as dead as France’s World Cup effort. Ooo la la.
For Fans Of: jj, Miike Snow, Friendly Fires.
‘Real Life’ is taken from Tanlines’ latest EP ‘Settings’, out through Matador Records offshoot True Panther Sounds, a label on fire at the moment – first Girls then Delorean and now Tanlines. That’s what we call a roll.
‘Bejan’ popped up on the Kitsune Maison 7 album and is quite simply a tropical wet dream.
Explore the band’s MySpace and be rewarded by various remixes for the likes of El Guincho, Telepathe, Glasser and Memory Tapes.
Grab the ‘Settings EP’ on vinyl with a free download from Rough Trade and all formats from Matador.
