Swn Festival 2010
It’s that time of year again for the Welsh South By South West that is Swn Festival. The new music festival curated by Radio 1 new music champion Huw Stevens and John Rostron this evening kicked off across the pubs and clubs of Cardiff. Weekend – Sports
Weekend are Shaun Durkan (Vocals/Bass/Baritone Guitar), Kevin Johnson (Guitar) and Abe Pedroza (Drums) from San Francisco. The band release their debut album ‘Sports’ through Slumberland Records on November 9th. Within lies punk energy, garage rock, layers of reverb and an underlying ear for melody that’ll no doubt see them rise above many noise mongering competitors.

Deerhunter – Revival
‘Revival’ is taken from Atlanta, Georgia band Deerhunter‘s magnificent fourth studio album ‘Halycon Digest’ which is out now through 4AD. Between his side project Atlas Sound and supposedly main band Deerhunter, frontman and driving force of both projects Bradford Cox hardly gives us chance to catch breath between releases and this might just be his best yet.
