    Sharon Van Etten was in town last night to perform before a capacity audience at Cargo in Shoreditch, with tickets long since snapped up by many an earnest 6 Music listener at a guess. Needless to say we were quite excited then and with good reason, after pummelling the hell out of the Brooklnite’s latest album, the spellbinding, Jagjaguwar released (home to the Grammy award winning Bon Iver), ‘Tramp’ in recent months. This tour was to be the first putting those intricately crafted gems into a live show. // more

    UNKNOWN MORTAL ORCHESTRA @ XOYO, LONDON, 28TH NOV 2011.

    Unknown Mortal Orchestra were back in town this evening to play the Rockfeedback night at XOYO in London’s bustling Shoreditch. The New Zealand / Portland three piece weren’t without their share of technical difficulties (broken strings, malfunctioning pedals, etc) but the ramshackle nature of the show did nothing to hide the brilliance of this band, as they tore through tracks from their self-titled, Fat Possum released, debut album.

    The Mantles @ Shacklewell Arms, March 24th.

    San Francisco four-piece The Mantles finished a two week European tour with an Upset The Rhythm hosted gig at what was supposed to be Marquis of Ladndsdowne but ended up being the Shacklewell Arms, just round the corner in the heart of Dalston’s cool (London). The Mantles first caught our attention with the PHENOMENAL ‘Dont Lie’ single from their 2009 self-titled debut album, one of our tracks of that year. // more
