SXSW 2010: Dinosaur Feathers @ Creekside Lounge

Dinosaur Feathers are Greg, Duck and Ryan from Brooklyn, New York. They make ultra harmonious, pop drenched, afrobeat infused tropical mayhem that can not fail to slap an ear to ear smile across even the most rainy of faces! Having fallen in love with their self-released debut ‘Fantasy Memorial’, we were eager to see how they shaped up live.

Another artist high up our SXSW hit list was Florida’s MillionYoung. MillionYoung is Mike Diaz and he crafts some of the most blissful 4am haze dance tracks this side of Memory Tapes. Mike’s kindly given us permission to share with you a new track ‘Recess’ which features on a new bedroom made cdr you can grab from the man himself if you’re lucky enough to see him play. You’re going to love this.

SXSW 2010: Joshua James @ The Parish

Joshua James hails from Nebraska. He’s 25 and very talented. We caught him at The Parish on Day 2 of SXSW. In the crowd we chatted to someone who’d not heard of Joshua before this festival but was now watching him for the third time. Tonight it’s easy to see why he could have such an effect.

SXSW 2010: Avi Buffalo @ Mohawks

Avi Buffalo is the vessel through which 19 year old Long Beach California native Avigdor Zahner-Isenberg channels his musical powers of which he is blessed with many. Avi Buffalo is signed to Sub Pop and has a self titled album due out in April. It’s a great record but it’s nothing compared to the live performance. Watching this little Californian play guitar is breathtaking.
