• I Break Horses – Hearts

I Break Horses a.k.a. Swedish Duo Maria Linden and Frederik Balck signed to Bella Union back in 2009, which is actually when ‘Hearts’ was first doing the rounds. The duo though have been lovingly crafting their debut album of the same name since then, which will finally see the light of day on Aug 15th. For now, enjoy this spellbinding free single along with its equally entrancing new video courtesy of Alex Southam of the ‘oof  colelctive’. Roll on August. // more

  • Wavves – King Of The Beach

Wavves – King Of The Beach

So Wavves’ Nathan Williams is pretty famous in the indie world for splitting opinions (noisy shit or finger on the pulse genius?) and for having a drug n booze induced on stage breakdown of sorts during his set at Primavera festival in 2009. While we enjoyed snippets (‘So Bored’) of his 2009 self-titled debut we were hardly bowled over by the whole tin can tape hiss affair. On his new album for Bella Union however, the self proclaimed ‘King Of The Beach’ seems to have upped his game considerably.

Beach House @ Shepherds Bush Empire, Nov 23rd.

What? Baltimore’s finest export aside from The Wire, Beach House, play their biggest London headline show to date at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire this November. They’ve spent years slowly building a fan base (remember that?) and supporting the likes of Grizzly Bear, Fleet Foxes and far less impressive bands. Times change though and Beach House’s third album (first for Bella Union in the UK) ‘Teen Dream’ has rightly propelled them into the limelight.

John Grant – Queen Of Denmark

So it was International Record Store Day on Saturday 16th April in case it passed you by. We chose to spend the day at our favourite London Record Store, Rough Trade West. As well as achieving near bankruptcy we were fortunate enough to stumble across the new album from John Grant , formerly of one of our favourite bands, The Czars. Midlake as his backing band you say? Where do we sign?
