Poodle haired New York hipster Darwin Deez has had a hell of a year with the release of his frankly excellent self-titled debut album getting him on all kinds of playlists this side of the Atlantic. Famed for slightly erratic but highly entertaining live shows including full band dance freak-out interludes! This will be his biggest UK headline show yet.

Darwin Deez @ Madame Jojo’s, March 9th.
Last night’s show at the White Heat club night in Soho marked Darwin Deez‘s debut UK show. We’d previously heard a few mixed reports about the Deez live package and a friend said he’d rather see Phenomenal Hand Clap Band, also playing London last night, than “that Napoleon Dynamite wannabe”. His jest was friendly but we have a feeling the last laugh was ultimately ours. Mwa ha ha! // more

Venture inside to catch the supremely entertaining video for Music Mule favourite Darwin Deez‘s upcoming single Radar Detector, due out April 5th on Lucky Number. What? XFM are no dummies and they’ve cottoned on to the fact that Darwin Deez is pretty hot property. Hence he headlines their regular XFM Xsposure night in Camden in March. If you can’t make it along to see the Deez’s first show at White Heat then be sure to get to this. The man has the talent and songs in droves but it’s now time to see if his crazy dance tinged live show can stand up to the test.
