Yeasayer @ Koko, May 26th.
What? Yeasayer‘s second album ‘Odd Blood’ is due out on Feb 8th and is one of our tips for the top this year with the band apparently discovering the poppier side to their celebrated eccentricities. The band’s gig at Heaven in February is unsurprisingly sold out and with that in mind the Brooklynites announce this new date at the formidable Koko in May. A must see.

The Joy Formidable @ Koko, Oct 27th.
The Joy Formidable may be a far cry from tonight’s headliners Passion Pit and their falsetto pop charm but they certainly share with them a certain obsession for sonic perfection evident from both bands’ sets this evening. Are we discounting too much the input of Koko’s huge soundsystem and their Darth Vader’s Bathroom mixing desk? // more

Like a photo on a dating website, the recorded, produced version of a band sometimes doesn’t translate into what they’re like in person. A band’s album is them shot from their best angle, accentuating their best features. Sometimes, when you meet them face-to-face, you wish you hadn’t bothered.

The Temper Trap @ Koko, Dec 21st.
What? The Temper Trap are pretty much the hottest live band on the planet at the moment. If you’re not lucky enough to have a ticket for Wednesday’s sold out show at Heaven then make sure you snap up one for this new Koko show presented by those tasteful promoters at Eat Your Own Ears. This promises to be a great Xmas warm up.
