Magic Kids / Allo Darlin’ @ Barfly Camden, Oct 1st.
What? Memphis’ Magic Kids have a bit of a live reputation back in the states. First bigged up to us by Christopher Owen of Girls, we’re eager to see them at this Camden Barfly show, the first of two initial London dates (they’re back at the end of the month) supporting their marvellous debut album, the fittingly titled ‘Memphis’. Support comes from Fortuna Pop! signed Allo Darlin’ who have been making increasing ripples with their joy inspiring folk pop ditties.

On Repeat: Magic Kids – Hey Boy
Magic Kids are from Memphis, Tennessee and feature members of The Barbaras and Girls of the Gravitron. They’re currently out on the road in the U.S. with one of our favourite bands Girls and they’ve got a split 7″ due out in the new year with another of our favourite bands The Smith Westerns. Magic Kids make beautiful Brian Wilson influenced, vocal driven pop which induces a jaw aching grin upon all who cross its path. Be warned.
