Review: Princeton @ Old Blue Last, May 10th.
Our love of Princeton is no secret. Their debut album ‘Cocoon Of Love’ didn’t get an official UK release but we grabbed it on import from Kanine Records in the U.S. and it proved one of our favourites of 2009. The band are currently in the UK for a handful of dates and last night we were at Old Blue Last to enjoy their performance and take some shoddily lit video. // more

SXSW 2010: Princeton, Kanine Records Showcase @ Wave Rooftop
Princeton are another U.S. band that we’ve been following for some time now and were eager to get a first in the flesh glimpse of. Lead by co-frontmen and twin brothers Matt and Jesse Kivel, the L.A. band take us through some gorgeous guitar lead tunes from their debut long player Cocoon Of Love, out last year on Kanine Records who tonight present this very showcase.

Kisses – Bermuda
Regular readers will know we have a soft spot for L.A. based band Princeton a.k.a. twin brothers Matt and Jesse Kivel. Think then of our delight to find that brother Jesse has an aptly named electronic side project, Kisses, with his girlfriend, writer and fashion blogger Zinzi Edmundson. Then double this delight upon finding that their music is like a long lost Jens Lekman song.

Princeton – Stunner Shades In Heaven (Daytrotter Session)
It’s no secret that Princeton are one of our favourite new bands of the past couple of years. With their first UK single Calypso Gold out now and the band beginning to get some attention in their home country it’s exciting times for the Eagle Rock, California band. Daytrotter got them into their studios recently and the band attempted their first ever live version of album track ‘Stunner Shades In Heaven’.
