    Girls @ Scala, Feb 23rd.

Girls won us over hook, line and sinker last year with their heartfelt West Coast pop and occasional but startlingly convincing forays into shoegaze. The Antlers @ Scala, May 19th.

What? The Antlers are Brooklyn trio Peter Silberman, Michael Lerner and Darby Cicc. Thier 2009 debut album Hospice has won them a lot of fans at this early stage of the band’s existence and it’s not hard to see why. Hospice is some of the most affecting, desolate yet uplifting music this side of Bon Iver’s stunning debut.

The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart @ Scala, Dec 8th.

What? Brooklyn shoegaze pop darlings The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart have had one hell of a rise to fame this year following the release of their superb self-titled debut. What a more fitting way to cap their year off than a show at the sizeable Scala in Kings Cross. Expect to be lost in a beautiful distorted haze of guitar and sweet boy-girl vocals.
