Wolf Parade – What Did My Lover Say (It Always Had To Go This Way)
It’s that time again in which Spencer Krug and Dan Boeckner lay aside their once side projects and now pretty much day jobs, Sunset Rubdown and Handsome Furs respectively, to resurrect the much loved beast that is Wolf Parade. With a new album, their third, Expo 86 due out through Sub Pop on June 29th we have our first taste of the record. Well two tastes actually.

On Repeat: Sunset Rubdown – You Go On Ahead (Trumpet Trumpet II)
Spencer Krug’s supposed side project Sunset Rubdown has just released its third album ‘Dragonslayer’ and at this stage they’re arguably set to eclipse his old band Wolf Parade which is no mean feat. Dragonslayer is a fantastic album full of all of the mystical and obscure imagery we’ve come to expect from Spencer but it’s also the most coherent and complete body of work he’s offered up yet. Sunset Rubdown @ The Garage, Sept 15th.
What? Sunset Rubdown is the side project of the mercurial Spencer Krug of Wolf Parade fame. The sound is a big one littered with guitars, pianos, accordion, whistles, claps and horns and Spencer’s wonderfully unique voice and bizarre, ethereal, lyrics about snakes, spirits and magic. A rare UK date.
