Ex Lovers, Kurran & The Wolfnotes @ The Borderline, Oct 22nd.
What? A great double bill featuring Ex Lovers and Kurran & The Wolfnotes who embark on a fourteen date joint UK tour. We caught Ex Lovers at their recent EP launch in Islington where they put on a great performance and were even nice enough to meet up for an interview beforehand. If edgy (oooo!) guitar pop with sweet boy, girl harmonies are your thang then look no further.

Local Natives @ The Borderline, July 16th.
What? Chess Club presents Local Natives, one of the hits of SXSW this year, featured in Just For Kicks recently, I can’t get enough of their sunny harmonies and off kilter pop melodies. Live they feature tribal drumming and apparently those voices are just killer. For Fans Of: Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Vampire Weekend. // more

The Joy Formidable @ The Borderline, June 8th.
What? The Joy Formidable are one of my favourite new British bands, epic, melancholic, electro tinged rock music with a feisty female front lady.
For Fans Of: Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, School Of Seven Bells.

Pink Mountaintops @ The Borderline, May 11th.
What? Pink Mountaintops are Steve McBean’s (of Canadian band Black Mountain fame) psychedelic, noise pop side project. Mojo magazine recently described them as ‘The Velvet Underground to Black Mountain’s Black Sabbath’. That pretty much hits the nail on the head but on their third and latest album ‘Outside Love’ there’s even the odd bit of country thrown in to the mix. For Fans Of: The Velvet Underground, Black Mountain, Comets On Fire. // more
