EMA – Past Life Martyred Saints
‘Past Life Martyred Saints’ is the debut solo album from South Dakota’s Erika M. Anderson or EMA as she is now known. So the story goes Erika moved to L.A. when she was 18 as she “liked Welcome To The Jungle”, as fine a reason as any by us, and went about making music in noise-folk outfit Amps for Christ and then as part of cult ‘genre defying’ duo Gowns with Ezra Buchla. Interview: Active Child @ The Great Escape, Brighton 2010.
Our final interview from Brighton’s Great Escape 2010 and this one’s a real treat as we caught up with Pat Grossi otherwise known as one of our favourite new artists Active Child. The interview took place outside Horatios Bar on Brighton Pier where Pat would play later that night. We took our chance to get to the bottom of that awesome harp and a lot more. // more

It sounded like a match made in heaven.
