Half-Time: Music Mule’s First XI – Albums of 2010 (so far)
Have you ever tried to write a top 10 list? Don’t, it’s a nightmare! Our first problem is that 10 isn’t that many! Secondly there are technicalities. Do we include albums featured in last year’s list (Darwin Deez, Local Natives, etc) that have only been “officially” released this year? Then there’s the danger of getting carried away with what you’re loving NOW and forgetting how much you adored albums earlier in the year. Right, enough moaning, as it’s a World Cup year we’re having a starting eleven anyway! // more

The National @ Brixton Academy, Nov 30th / Dec 1st
What? The National‘s new album High Violet went straight into the top 5 of the album chart and looks set to break the Brooklyn band into the big time. Following a sold out show at The Royal Albert Hall and a fans only show at Electric Ballroom in Camden, the band have just announced two back to back dates at the Brixton Academy. What? The National have finished recording their highly anticipated follow up to 2007′s near masterpiece album Boxer. The as of yet untitled album is due out on May 4th through 4ADnd to coincide the band embark on a world tour.
