The Strange Boys – Be Brave
Austin’s finest rhythm and blues wielding garage kids The Strange Boys are back with their second album and first for new UK label Rough Trade Records. ‘Be Brave’ is the first single to be lifted from the album of the same name which follows on February 22nd. The formula for this first single is more of the same: sweet sounding jangly guitar licks, tight rhythms and Ryan Sambol’s Dylan after downing maple syrup like voice is thankfully still a given. Review: The Strange Boys @ Barden’s Boudoir, Aug 12th.
The Strange Boys arrived in the UK yesterday on part of a mammoth tour to support their debut album ‘The Strange Boys and Girls Club’ which is one of the year’s best records thus far according to us. The band thrilled a packed out audience in Barden’s Boudoir including the pudding bowl haired Cribs twin and the tall half of The Big Pink. // more
