Bear In Heaven played their second London show in eight days at The Bird On The Wire show at Brixton’s Windmill last night. Would the low roofed Windmill (confusingly not a real Windmill) blow its top under the sheer force of the Brooklyn 3-piece’s psychedelic onslaught? We were about to find out. // more

Review: Still Corners @ The Windmill, April 12th.
Last night we ventured South to the hidden musical shrine that is Brixton’s Windmill to check out intriguing new(ish) London band Still Corners. The five piece seemed to have vanished into nowhere after releasing their quite superb ‘Remember Pepper’ EP in late 2007 but thankfully they’ve decided to grace us with their presence again.

Beth Jeans Houghton @ The Windmill, Nov 5th.
What? Beth Jeans Houghton we’re reliably informed (not because we read it honest!) was in the rising stars section of Grazia recently but don’t hold that against the girl. A young unmistakeably English folk sogstress with more than a shake of pop star to her. Her latest EP Hot Toast Vol 1 is a wheaty delight.

Review: Telekinesis, The Rosebuds @ The Windmill, Oct 7th.
Telekinesis’ Michael Benjamin Lerner is from Seattle but is a bit of an Anglophile it transpires this evening. He used to reside in Liverpool and can’t get enough of beans on toast and Marks and Spencer. He even admits, with a little shame, to being partial to a bit of Topman. He’s not such a fan of dodgy Liverpool fish and chips and in particular the “Mersey Brown Trout”! // more
