    San Francisco four-piece The Mantles finished a two week European tour with an Upset The Rhythm hosted gig at what was supposed to be Marquis of Ladndsdowne but ended up being the Shacklewell Arms, just round the corner in the heart of Dalston’s cool (London). The Mantles first caught our attention with the PHENOMENAL ‘Dont Lie’ single from their 2009 self-titled debut album, one of our tracks of that year. // more

    So we’ve literally just got back from La Sera‘s first ever show outside the U.S. of A. They themselves only got off a plane something silly like four hours earlier! For those who haven’t come across them yet, La Sera, is the new side project of busy bee Katy Goodman, otherwise known as the flowing red head who adds bass and woozy vocal harmonies to Brooklyn’s excellent Vivian Girls. In La Sera it’s all about Katy though, well almost all. // more

    The atmospheric but far from impressive sounding Camp Basement has seen two London debuts by two of our favourite new artists in as many Monday’s. Last week Toro Y Moi stepped up to the play and last night was Wild Nothing‘s turn. Also like Toro Y Moi, on record Wild Nothing is just one, namely Virginia’s Jack Tatum but both DIY artists chose the wise option of bringing a band in tow for their live dates. // more

    Tuesday night saw the multi headed electronic monster that is Washed Out and Small Black descend upon the capital for one of our most eagerly anticipated gigs of the year. Both Washed Out and Small Black featured in our Massive Radar list at the beginning of the year and following an impressive SXSW, expectations were running high. // more
