Wavves – King Of The Beach
So Wavves’ Nathan Williams is pretty famous in the indie world for splitting opinions (noisy shit or finger on the pulse genius?) and for having a drug n booze induced on stage breakdown of sorts during his set at Primavera festival in 2009. While we enjoyed snippets (‘So Bored’) of his 2009 self-titled debut we were hardly bowled over by the whole tin can tape hiss affair. On his new album for Bella Union however, the self proclaimed ‘King Of The Beach’ seems to have upped his game considerably.

California’s Wavves a.k.a Nathan Williams has been causing quite a stir since I first found out about them last year from Chris at Gorilla vs Bear. They seem to have made it over to the UK in record time even coming from an American scene that’s increasingly looking to Britain for its quick buck. // more
