Review: Field Day, July 31st 2010 @ Victoria Park, London.
The rain stayed away and the time clashes proved only fairly merciless (Atlas Sound/Caribou) for what was all in all a killer day in the sun at Field Day in Victoria Park. Music came courtesy of London’s promoting elite: Eat Your Own Ears, Bugged Out, Bloggers Delight, Village Mentality/Quietus, Adventures In The Beetroot Field, XOYO and The Lock Tavern. Back for its fourth year, East London’s finest 1-day festival Field Day is back with a hugely impressive lineup courtesy of music promoters Eat Your Own Ears, Adventures In The Beetroot Field, Bugged Out! and Bloggers Delight. Dum Dum Girls, Yuck @ Old Blue Last, Feb 24th
Tonight was a tale of three halves: Yuck, La La Vasquez and Dum Dum Girls. One of the halves didn’t fit you see and we’ll give you a clue which one it was: La La Vasquez. We’re rarely harsh on these pages but we hope for their own sake this isn’t the day job. Otherwise though the night went stormingly in the tropical temperatures of The Old Blue Last.

Yuck – Georgia
So we went to check out Yuck playing an opening slot for the pretty good Egyptian Hip Hop at The Stag’s Head in Dalston last night. It was our first glimpse at a band we’ve been eager to see so it was disappointing to find out that they were on early and only catch two songs worth of material. Thankfully one of those songs was the beautiful Georgia. Until the next time…
